“Would you participate in a styled photo shoot with me?”
I have been asked this question many times. And to tell you the truth, I am so glad that I said yes the first time.
I got a text from a photographer and friend, Dabe Lynn, if I would do a bouquet for another friend of hers that was doing a styled photo shoot at Southern Bridle Farms. So this friend sent me a Facebook message, we met at Starbucks one Sunday afternoon, we said hello, we sipped on our lattes, the photographer gave me a hug, I said goodbye to the wedding bouquet, and then thought to myself, I hope the pictures will turn out great. Ha! I did not realize who I was talking to. A few weeks later, I got an email from her with a folder of these pictures.
You see, there are inspiration photos, and then there are Inspiration photos! I’ve found that after looking through these photos I realize how much I love my job, and how much I love to do wedding floral design. I’d like to thank Dabe for introducing me to something I would never have tried on my own!

Knowing it was going to be held in a vintage-styled, southern farm, I knew just what kind of bouquet to make, but this also allowed me to play with ideas I’ve had in the past. I wrapped the bouquet with some burlap and linen fabrics to keep the elegance of the shoot wedding-esque, but to also give it that rustic vibe which happens to be very trendy right now!
So, like I said, the photos turned out way more beautiful than I could have imagined, and I’m so happy that I said yes to doing a styled photo shoot. Don’t forget to see more beautiful photos from Leigh and Becca on their website!
